In Zuidoost-Azië ontstaan groeimarkten die de volgende jaren steeds een groei van meer dan 5% mogen optekenen. Om onze rol als innovatieve en exportgerichte regio te behouden, dienen we in Vlaanderen vandaag meer dan ooit in te spelen op deze ontwikkelingen. Indonesië: de grootste eilandengroep ter wereld, met topregio’s als Java en Sumatra, maakt een sterke economische ontwikkeling door en biedt nog gunstigere perspectieven voor de toekomst. De financiële crisis heeft daar niets aan veranderd, de economie van het land blijft meer dan trendmatig groeien. Dhr. Geert Roelens zal vanuit zijn persoonlijke ervaring een getuigenis brengen over de manier van zakendoen in de Indonesische cultuur met een link naar de bredere Aziatische context. Programma 17u30 – 18u30 Registratie en onthaal met koffie en broodjes. 18u30 – 20u00 Lezing door de heer Geert Roelens: De heer Roelens zal het hebben over het succesvol opstarten van een bedrijf in Indonesië, gaande van personeelsbeleid en marketing tot standaarden en cultuurverschillen van de lokale bevolking. De lezing zal besluiten met een vergelijking van de businessmogelijkheden in Indonesië met andere Aziatische landen. Dhr. Geert Roelens. Geert Roelens (1955) studeerde af als burgerlijk ingenieur Metallurgie aan de Rijksuniversiteit Gent. Aan de National University of Singapore behaalde hij een MBA. Hij begon zijn industriële carrière als Engineering Manager bij Mietec - Alcatel group (1983-1988). Daarna werkte hij wereldwijd voor Bekaert (1988-2011), waarvan vier jaar in Indonesië. On Saturday afternoon 12 May 2012, our own BLIC XI, aka the Jakarta Red-Devils, will play German Plus, a local German expat team. The match will take place at the German International School grounds (DSI) in BSD City, Serpong. It will be a family event similar to last year with food and drinks. More details will be sent to you in due time. ---

EXPAT COMMUNITY - Erna Twechuizen: Mystic Teacher (Denpasar - Bali)

Erna Twechuizen was born in Hoboken in the Flemish part of Belgium, and grew up as the only child in a Catholic family. In 1991, she has made her home in Bali and in 1997 became an Indonesian citizen.
